Making Dreams Take Flight with UCHealth and Project Sol Flower

Project Sol Flower, in partnership with UCHealth, helped 25-year-old Cesar, who is battling muscular dystrophy, achieve his dream of riding in a helicopter. Thanks to UCHealth LifeLine, which provided a flight paramedic, Cesar enjoyed an unforgettable experience.

Flying in a helicopter was one of Cesar’s top five bucket list dreams. He was thrilled to see his hometown, Pueblo, CO, from the sky. His flight included breathtaking views of his home, the Pueblo Reservoir, and the Royal Gorge before landing back at UCHealth Parkview Pueblo West Hospital. Despite his physical challenges, Cesar’s positive spirit inspires everyone around him. We were honored to help him fulfill this incredible dream.

A Game Day to Remember

On Sunday, August 25, 2024, Project Sol Flower was thrilled to send two of our Dreamers, Cesar and Andre, to the Denver Broncos home game against the Arizona Cardinals. Both lifelong Broncos fans and wheelchair users, Cesar and Andre enjoyed the game from a shared, accessible suite. In a heartwarming twist, we discovered that Cesar and Andre had known each other since childhood, having met at a summer camp and remained friends ever since!
