Derek’s journey left a lasting impact on those around him. Though he passed before we were able to grant his dream, his story and the love surrounding him continue to be deeply felt.

A Dream We Planned Together

Derek’s dream was centered on time together, creating meaningful moments in the heart of Denver with the people he loved most. Plans included a stay at the Hyatt Downtown Denver, with three rooms to bring everyone together, along with special meals at Orion Hu Hot and Sam’s No. 3, a local favorite featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

While these experiences were never realized, they reflect the kind of connection, comfort, and joy Derek hoped to share.

Carrying His Dream Forward

In honor of Derek, we had the privilege of granting a dream for his sister, Anna. It was a small way to carry forward his spirit and ensure that the love at the center of his dream continued to live on through her experience.
