Trevor’s journey is one of resilience, passion, and finding light in the most unexpected places. After facing a life-altering diagnosis, his dream became a celebration of everything that carried him through - family, food, and new beginnings.
Strength Before the Start
Just one week before beginning medical school, Trevor was diagnosed with a brain tumor. What should have been the start of an exciting new chapter quickly turned into a fight for his health. After completing treatment, Trevor emerged with incredible strength, determination, and a renewed perspective on life.
Healing Through Cooking
Throughout his treatment, Trevor turned to cooking as a source of comfort and creativity. It became more than just a passion, it was a way to cope, to process, and to bring moments of joy into an otherwise difficult time.
A Table Filled with Love
To celebrate his journey, Trevor curated an intimate and meaningful dinner for 26 of his closest family members and medical school classmates, an especially meaningful group who have supported him both personally and academically. Loved ones traveled from Hawaii to Denver to be by his side, gathering just before his White Coat Ceremony at CU’s MD/PhD program, a powerful milestone marking both his resilience and his future in medicine. 🥼
An Unforgettable Culinary Experience
Hosted by Evolve at Mile Hi, the evening was brought to life as Chef Jeff of Love Pop Experience worked alongside Trevor to craft an extraordinary, multi-course meal. Guests enjoyed dishes like coconut curry lamb, BBQ braised short ribs, pork belly wonton tacos, and chocolate haupia pie, creating a dining experience as memorable as the moment itself.
